Plaquette négative double face, C - rhomboïde angle inclus de 80°, taille 16 avec rayon de pointe de 1,6 mm. La combinaison de brise-copeaux KR est robuste et constitue le premier choix pour l'ébauche de la fonte. Elle présente un angle de coupe légèrement positif et une large bande de dégagement. Elle convient également aux aciers et, sous certaines conditions, aux matériaux durs. Le substrat T5405 est revêtu de MT-CVD, à base de WC-Co. Il convient aux matériaux : K - fonte (alliages de fer et de carbone avec une teneur en carbone > 2%) et à la coupe légèrement interrompue.
