Plaquette de tournage négative double-face, S - carrée, taille 12 avec rayon de bec de 0,8 mm. La combinaison du brise-copeaux SM est polyvalente et constitue le premier choix pour l'usinage moyen des aciers et superalliages. Elle présente un angle de coupe légèrement positif et un listel stable et modéré. Elle convient également pour les aciers inoxydables, les fontes, et sous certaines conditions pour les alliages non ferreux et les matériaux durs. Le substrat T9425, doté d'un revêtement MT-CVD et d'une gradation fonctionnelle, est principalement conçu pour les matériaux du groupe P. Convient aux matériaux : P - Acier et acier moulé (aciers avec une teneur en alliage ≤ 10 % et une dureté < 45 HRC), M - Acier inoxydable (aciers résistants à la corrosion avec ≥ 11 % de chrome), K - Fonte (moulages d'alliages de fer et de carbone avec > 2 % de carbone).
