Plaquette négative double face, S - carrée, taille 12 avec rayon de bec de 1,2 mm. La combinaison de brise-copeaux KR est robuste et constitue le premier choix pour l'ébauche des fontes. Elle présente un angle de coupe légèrement positif et une large facette. Elle convient également aux aciers et, sous certaines conditions, aux matériaux durs, ainsi qu'au substrat T5405 revêtu MT-CVD, à base de WC-Co. Elle convient aux matériaux : K - Fonte (pièces moulées en alliages de fer et de carbone avec une teneur en carbone > 2 %) et coupe légèrement interrompue.
