Plaquette négative double face, S - carrée, taille 12 avec rayon de bec de 1,6 mm. La combinaison de brise-copeaux KR est robuste et constitue le premier choix pour l'ébauche des fontes. Elle présente un angle de coupe légèrement positif et une large facette de dépouille. Elle convient également pour les aciers et, sous certaines conditions, pour les matériaux durs. Le substrat T5405 en WC-Co, revêtu MT-CVD, convient pour les matériaux : K - fonte (pièces moulées en alliages de fer et de carbone avec > 2 % de carbone) et coupe légèrement interrompue.
