Plaquette négative double face, W - trigon, taille 8 avec rayon de pointe de 0,8 mm. La combinaison du brise-copeaux KR est robuste et constitue le premier choix pour l'ébauche des fontes. Elle présente un angle de coupe légèrement positif et un large listel. Elle convient également pour les aciers et, sous certaines conditions, pour les matériaux durs. Le substrat WC-Co revêtu MT-CVD T5405 convient pour les matériaux : K - fonte (pièces moulées en alliages de fer et de carbone avec une teneur en carbone > 2 %) et coupe légèrement interrompue.
