Plaquette négative double-face, W - trigon, taille 8 avec un rayon de coin de 1,6 mm. La combinaison de brise-copeaux KR est robuste et constitue le premier choix pour l'ébauche de fontes. Elle présente un angle de coupe légèrement positif et une large facette de renfort. Elle convient également pour les aciers et, sous certaines conditions, pour les matériaux durs. Et la T5405 avec un substrat à base de WC-Co revêtu MT-CVD convient aux matériaux : K - Fonte (pièces moulées en fer et alliages de carbone avec > 2 % de teneur en carbone) et coupes légèrement interrompues.
